Android 9.0 P is the successor of Oreo, a mobile OS that is yet installed on only 1% of smartphones and other Android devices. The new OS whose final name is not yet known must bring many new features. The first Developer Preview was released on March 7, 2018.
Android 8.0 Oreo has just exceeded 1% of installations on smartphones, tablets and other Android-compatible devices. According to figures from February 2018, besides Oreo, Nougat is installed on 28.1% of devices, Marshmallow (Android 6.0 / 6.1) has a 28.1% market share, Lollipop (5.0 / 5.1) is installed on 24.6% % of the park, KitKat (4.4) retains 12.0% of shares, as for older versions, they are now in the minority.
